I got my Mustang in Washington State in August of 2015 from a family friend, and it was my first car. It was an all stock inline 6 car which was in decent shape but it needed a lot of love.
Immediately my father and I began working hard disassembling the car, labelling all parts and bolts in plastic baggies. It filled all our weekends with long hot nights and with memories I will never forget.
After disassembly, I took it to a local paint and body to repair rust and make it pretty. They cut out rusty floor pans and buffed the rest of the rust and old paint straight. The before and after absolutely shocked me!
Then I took it to a local shop for a tune up and did the interior a few months later.
The car was finally finished with its first stage of resto around November of 2016.
My Mustang became my daily as soon as all the work was done to it. I was driving it to community college and back and all around town.
Shortly after I had an accident where an ambulance came upon our freshly green light and I locked up my drum brakes and slid into the back of someone. A concussion, cut eyebrow, and bruised ego later, I sadly took my car back to the body shop to repair the damage. Luckily it was rather minimal but it still hurt my soul real darn bad! The turnaround was a few months.
After getting it fixed, I saved up and did an entire 5 lug suspension swap in 2017 complete with safer front disc brakes and a new set of American Racing wheels.
I continued to daily drive my car with continued maintenance and completing upgrades through finishing community and starting university college.
In late 2020 during Covid, I finally had saved enough and bought all the parts I needed to pull out the trusty inline 6 and swap in a 1991 5.0 complete with aluminum heads and a cam I helped rebuild in the garage. I also added power steering, upgraded a few more suspension parts, and added a compatible c4 automatic transmission with a shift kit.
Since the swap I have continued to daily drive my car while maintaining and upgrading as needed. Oil changes every 3,000 miles come quickly!
My Mustang is still my first car and only car that I own. I daily drive it year round in the lovely California weather and have had my first handful of sponsorships.
I am proud to say I have worked on my car myself since 2017 (with lots of help) and I truly know my car inside and out. I have gotten better with the camera and editing videos and continue to grow my online social media presence.
I truly look forward to the next things I plan to do to my car and cannot wait to show you all. Thank you dearly for sticking around to see it.
